A Chief Research Scientist, Dr. (Mrs) Wilhelmina Quaye was today inducted into office as the new Director for the Science and Technology Policy Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-Ghana). She replaces Dr. George Owusu Essegbey, whose tenure of Office as Director has ended.

Dr. George Owusu Essegbey in his welcome remarks told the gathering that he is proud to be handing over to Dr. (Mrs.) Quaye. He said "I have every confidence in you. I know what you can do. I am happy handing over to you because you have what it takes to take CSIR-STEPRI to higher grounds." He told the gathering.

Prof. Victor Kwame Agyeman, the Director General of the CSIR, Ghana, was on hand to induct Dr. (Mrs.) Quaye into office.He advised her to be free, fair and above all very firm in steering the affairs of the institute. 

Mr. Issahaku Adams, the Director of Administration at the CSIR Headoffice, in introducing the new Director recounted her exploits within the council and urged her to never relent in her efforts and work even harder now that she has risen to the high office of Director.

In her acceptance speech, Dr. (Mrs.) Wilhemina Quaye pledge to work with an all-inclusive agenda where every member of staff will be a priority during her tenure.

Several congratulatory messages were read by the Research, Senior, Junior as well as all unionised staff.
